A method of testing an infant or toddler’s hearing. Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA) is performed by having the child sit in a sound booth while sounds are presented through speakers on each side, or through headphones placed on the child’s ears. When the sound is presented, the child is positively reinforced when they turn towards the sound with the use of a lighted and/or animated toy or figurine. The child must be conditioned to perform this test reliably to estimate hearing threshold levels.
