Functional Hearing Loss

Functional hearing loss, or non-organic hearing loss, is a hearing loss that can not be explained by any detectable pathology in the auditory system. It can be described as a “psychological” hearing loss in which the patient believes they have a hearing loss when there is no problem with the auditory system itself.
