A hearing device that is used when a person has one ear with an aidable hearing loss and one ear that is too severe to be considered aidable with a conventional hearing aid. A device is worn on both ears. The device on the poorer hearing ear picks up sound through the microphone and transmits it wirelessly to the better hearing ear. The device on the better hearing ear both receives the sound from the opposite device and also amplifys the sound to accommodate for the hearing loss. This will help the wearer hear sounds regardless of which side they come from. CROS hearing aids are also available for people who have unaidable hearing in one ear and normal hearing in the other ear.
